Can I join the BRASSART School of Graphic Design with any type of A-levels?
The BRASSART school of graphic design is open to applicants from all baccalaureate levels. Each year, the BRASSART school accepts and selects students from a variety of streams and options: General baccalaureate, technological baccalaureate and vocational baccalaureate.
More than just a curriculum, BRASSART places great importance on the student's professional project and motivation to join our graphic design school.
After an immersion day at BRASSART, am I obliged to register in the school ?
No! The immersion days offered at BRASSART schools are discovery days. The idea is to immerse yourself in campus life, talk to students and lecturers, and take part in various workshops on graphic design professions.
Totally free of charge and with no obligation, these days are designed to help you confirm your choice of career path.
What is the oral selection exam for BRASSART graphic design school?
This is a motivational interview that we use to identify motivated students who will go on to complete the diploma. Our aim is to ensure that you thrive at our school throughout your training!
Is the admission procedure for a preparatory class in applied arts the same from one BRASSART graphic design school to another?
Whether you want to enter a BRASSART Group graphic design school in Paris, Lille, Caen, Montpellier, Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, Bordeaux, Annecy, Grenoble, Nantes, Tours, Lyon, Rennes or Strasbourg, the procedure is completely identical. The entrance exam can only be taken once a year.
The entrance exam for the applied arts preparatory classes at BRASSART graphic design schools consists of :
- an artistic production based on an imposed theme
- examination of your artistic portfolio (10 to 15 personal creations)
- examination of your academic record
- a motivational interview lasting around 30 minutes
Do I need to be able to draw to join BRASSART?
You don't have to be able to draw to enter the BRASSART School of Graphic Design. The preparatory year in applied arts is there to provide the basics of drawing.
On the other hand, the student must be keen to learn to draw and be motivated, as drawing is present in many courses of study. If the student chooses to study audiovisual or video games/game design, there is no drawing requirement.
What is the admission process for the BRASSART School of Graphic Design?
The admission procedure varies according to the course of study you wish to enter:
- For the Applied Arts preparatory class and the Graphic & Digital Design, 3D Animation & VFX and Illustration Graphic Arts courses: transcripts, creative portfolio, a production to be made at home and an interview lasting around 30 min.
- For the Video Games stream: test (approx. 1h) and motivation interview (approx. 45 min)
- For the Audiovisual stream: production portfolio and interview.
The aim of these admission procedures is above all to get to know you and understand what motivates you to join BRASSART.
Do I have to pay for the BRASSART entrance exam?
No. The BRASSART selection interview is entirely free and without obligation. Students will only have to pay the registration fees for the graphic design school of their choice, if after the interview they are accepted and wish to enroll.
Can I take the BRASSART graphic design school admission interview several times a year?
No, applications to join BRASSART can only be made once a year. If the student misses the entrance exam, he cannot retake the exam in the same year. However, the student can reapply the following year for the competitive entrance exam to take a new interview and try to join a graphic design course at BRASSART schools.
How long does it take to enroll at the BRASSART School of Graphic Design?
Recruitment to join the BRASSART school takes place on a rolling basis. Applications generally open in October. If you'd like to join our school, don't delay! As the year progresses, the number of places becomes increasingly limited.
What level of schooling is required to attend BRASSART?
To enter the BRASSART school of graphic design, students can apply from the Terminale level. To be accepted, they must have passed their baccalaureate.
Every year, BRASSART schools welcome students of all academic levels to their graphic arts, video games, graphic design and 3D animation courses.
How do I enter the 2nd or 3rd year of training at the BRASSART School of Graphic Design?
To join the BRASSART school of graphic design in parallel admissions, the process is the same as for the first year: the application is made 100% online on our BRASSART website. Once you've filled in your contact details and submitted your artwork, you'll be invited to an interview.
Is it preferable to do a preparatory class in art before entering the BRASSART school of graphic design?
You don't need to. In fact, our courses in Graphic & Digital Design, 3D Animation & VFX and Graphic Arts & Illustration include a year of preparatory classes in the applied arts. This preparatory year will give you all the grounding you need to continue your studies.
Is it possible to talk to other students before coming to BRASSART?
If you'd like to talk to our BRASSART students, we look forward to seeing you at our Open Days on our various campuses! During these days, a large number of students will be on hand to show you around their school and share their BRASSART experience with you.
What is the age limit for starting a graphic design course at BRASSART?
There's no age limit for joining our school! As long as you're passionate about the creative professions, you can apply to our school. We will, of course, study your application and creative portfolio, and pay close attention to your motivation and career plans.
How many places are there in the BRASSART schools? And for how many applicants?

How can I choose my BRASSART graphic design school campus?

Is the curriculum different at BRASSART graphic design schools?
BRASSART's teaching methods, which have been in place for 75 years, naturally evolve over time, keeping pace with new technologies and business needs. Drawing on our expertise and ability to adapt, a national program has been set up for all our graphic design schools. We make it a point of honor to ensure equivalent quality of training on all our campuses, even though they are steeped in the local professional fabric, through workshops or battles for example.
Is there a BRASSART boarding school?
There are no boarding facilities on our campuses. However, each school will be able to help you in your search for accommodation, thanks to the various contacts our teaching staff have with student residences, for example.
